KURS or Kool 1040 is an oldies radio station in San Diego, California. It flipped to its current format on March 16, 2007, after their previous gospel music format moved to AM 1240 KSON on January 15, 2007. This format switch marked the first time since September 1, 2005 that there has been an oldies station serving San Diego. Before September 1, 2005, oldies music was played on XHOCL-FM, "Kool 99.3," until they flipped to a Spanish Oldies format as "La Preciosa." Kool 1040 is supplied with their oldies music and hosts from Dial Global's "Kool Gold." KURS shares their antenna with AM 1240 KSON.
